Learn how to make clear pressed flower resin coasters with real dried flowers. No bubbles, no floating flowers, full supply list included.
If you have ever poured resin coasters and watched your perfect white daisies float to the top or turn clear, this is for you.
I finally nailed a method that keeps flowers exactly where you put them, crystal clear, and no sticky bottoms. These are my best sellers at markets and my most saved Idea List.
Why Pressed Flowers Work Best
Fresh flowers have water. Water + resin = rot and brown spots. Pressed and fully dried flowers keep their color. My favorite combo is white daisies + purple statice + baby’s breath. They are small enough to lay flat in a coaster mold.

How to Make Them – Step by Step
1. Prep your space-Always wear gloves and a mask
Work in 70-75 degree room. Cold rooms cause bubbles. Lay down parchment, put mold on a level board you can move.
2. Pour a thin base layer
Mix resin exactly 1:1 by weight. Stir slowly 3 minutes. Pour just enough to cover the bottom of each mold, about 1/8 inch. Pop bubbles with heat gun for 5 seconds. Wait 30-40 minutes until it’s tacky like honey. This tacky layer is the secret it stops flowers from floating.
3. Place your flowers
Use tweezers. Lay flowers face down if you want them visible from the top. Press gently into tacky resin. If white daisies go translucent, brush a tiny dot of resin on top first to seal.
4. Seal coat
Mix a tiny 10ml batch and drizzle over flowers with a stir stick to lock them. Use heat gun again. Let sit 20 minutes.
5. Final pour
Mix your main batch and slowly pour to the top of the mold. Pour down the stir stick, not directly on flowers. Heat gun once more, cover with a box to keep dust out. Cure 24 hours.
6. Demold and finish
Use mold release to pop out. If edges are sharp, lightly sand with 400 grit. Add cork pads to the bottom.
3 Tips That Saved My Coasters
1. Don’t overload. 3-5 small flowers per coaster looks pro. Too many looks messy.
2. Purple holds, white fades. Statice, lavender, and ferns keep color best. White daisies look amazing but add a few colored ones so they don’t wash out.
3. No open flame near flowers. Use a heat gun, not a torch. Torch will burn dried petals.
Variations That Sell
• Gold foil + white daisy
• Fall leaves + orange petals
• Baby’s breath only for a wedding gift set
Care
Wipe with damp cloth. Not dishwasher safe. Resin can get soft with super hot coffee mugs, use for regular mugs and candles.
