I told myself I wasn’t starting Halloween decor until October 1st., that last a day.
Then I found these.
I wanted to start small this year no big bins dragged out of the attic, no inflatables yet. Just a few glowy, cozy pieces to make the house feel like fall when the lights go down. So I ordered a little bundle of lights and figures, and this is what showed up.
Here’s what I bought to start decorating:
1. Trio of Glowing Orange LED Candles with Remote

These were first in my cart. Three different heights, all glowing warm orange with little Halloween silhouettes a witch flying over pumpkins, a haunted house, spooky trees and bats. They flicker like real candles.
They came with a little white remote, so I can turn them on, set a timer, and dim them from the couch. No wax, no heat. I’ve got them clustered on my mantel right now and at night they make the whole room glow.
2. The Little Pumpkin with Boots

This one made me laugh. He’s yellow-orange, round, with a little pouty face and rope legs with tiny brown boots. He lights up. He’s sitting on my kitchen counter and he’s just happy. He’s going to be my porch greeter when I add real pumpkins.
3. The Purple LED Spider

A little extra, but I love the color. It’s a big black spider with purple LED lights running down all eight legs. When you turn it on it glows purple against the orange candles. I’ve got it draped over my candle cluster and it’s not creepy at all just sparkly and fun.
4. Two Little Glowing Ghosts

I couldn’t choose, so I got both. One with a pointy black witch hat, one with a little black bow and eyelashes. They both have a soft white light inside. They’re small, so I tucked one on my entry table and one on the shelf. At night they give off the sweetest little boo glow.
5. The Rustic Witch

My favorite vintage touch. Green face, tall black hat with red glitter, black dress with stars, holding a tiny treat bucket. She’s wood, a little weathered, and she looks like something from a fall craft market. She’s on my hearth right now keeping an eye on everything.
That’s it. Five things.
No big setup, no stress. Just a mantel that glows orange, a purple spider, a pouty pumpkin, two sweet ghosts, and a little witch.
It’s enough to make the house feel like October has officially started, and I can build from here add some real pumpkins, some leaves from the yard, maybe a few more lights later.
If you’re wanting to start small too, this was a perfect way to do it. Everything is LED and battery-operated, safe around kids and pets.
I’ll share photos once I get it all styled on the porch.
What was the first thing you bought to start decorating this year?
